Realme 5 lineup confirmed to launch in India on August 20

realme 5 launch date

It is not confirmed that the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro devices will launch in India on August 20. The lineup will be sold via Flipkart.

Both the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro will sport a quad rear camera setup (though the recently unveiled 64MP camera sensor won’t make its way to these devices). The predicted camera is a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor.

The rest of the specifications of both the devices are rather unclear as of now, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days as the launch date approaches (note that there is a separate Realme camera unveil event happening in China in the coming days, so we might get some more information from there as well).

Though the price of the devices has not been revealed yet, the tipped price is somewhere around INR 13000 meaning that the Realme 3 Pro might soon be seeing a price cut.

Original story

As per our sources, the Realme 5 lineup can go live by the end of August or during the first week of September.

Furthermore, both the Realme 5 and the Realme 5 Pro will feature a quad rear camera setup, but that won’t be the recently unveiled 64MP sensor. A newly teased official poster straight up hints at the same.

Meanwhile, the rumors mill has claimed that the lineup will start at around INR 13000 in India and could go all the way up to around INR 18000.

This, however, has not been confirmed by any means as of now, so we might as well take this news with a pinch of salt.

Meanwhile, the company has started teasing the images taken from the 64MP camera smartphone and needless to say, they look amazing.

As it was already clear,┬áthe 64MP touting smartphone (as per 91Mobiles) won’t be the Realme 5 Pro as according to the website, the Realme 5 Pro will feature a 48MP sensor instead.

The official poster shared by the company shows three color variants of the device – Purple, Blue, and White.

Here are some sample shots taken from the 64MP sensor.

Needless to say, the images look pretty crisp.

There is a possibility that this device could be the upcoming Realme X Pro.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi has teased that its upcoming flagship smartphone (most likely the Mi Mix 4) will feature a massive 108MP camera sensor made by Samsung.

As of now, there is no word on the pricing and the launch dates of both the devices, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days.
