Huawei has launched a new budget tablet dubbed the Honor Tab 5. The device does not feature something too substantial (which is not surprising considering the price point it is being offered at), but it is still a decent choice for a tablet at this price.

Starting things off with the display, the Honor Tab 5 sports an 8-inch HD+ display giving out a resolution of 1200×1920 pixels. The rear is made up of metal with plastic wrapping it at the top and the bottom. Truth be told, the design language looks dated, if nothing else.
Under the hood, the device is powered with a Kirin 710 processor which is coupled with of 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage which can further be expanded by up to 512GB with the help of an external SD card. Good to see Huawei taking care of the internal storage with the expansion options as having just 32GB of internal storage won’t suffice everyone’s needs.
Moving on to the camera of the device, the features a single 8MP camera with autofocus at the back and an 8MP selfie snapper with fixed focus. At this price point, we could not expect the cameras to be any better. If it gets the job of video calling done, we would be more than delighted.
A big 5100mAh battery fuels the device. Moving on to the OS, the device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
