Blackview A20 Pro full review: 5.5-inch display, Android 8.1 Oreo, $70

Blackview has announced a new entry-level smartphone dubbed the Blackview A20 Pro. Unlike the other smartphones of the company which are mainly aimed at providing a rugged experience, the Blackview A20 Pro aims at providing decent specifications at an ultra-affordable price.

To add to it, the device is currently on sale in China and you can get 13% discount on the already cheap price the device is being offered at.

Starting things off with the display, the Blackview A20 Pro comes equipped with a 5.5-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device comes in three color variants – Gray, Golden, and Blue. The rear of the device is made of metal which, truth be told, looks and feels cheap. The power button and the volume rocker are on the right side of the device.

Under the hood, we get a decent MediaTek MT6739 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can further be expanded with the help of an external SD card.

Coming to the cameras, we get dual camera setup at the back with an 8MP primary sensor (and a 0.3MP secondary sensor) and a 5MP selfie snapper.

Surprisingly enough, there is a fingerprint scanner available with the device which is a pretty good sight considering the price point the device is being offered at. Good job here, Blackview.

Moving on to the battery of the device, this is another key area where the Blackview A20 Pro shines. We get a potent 3,000 mAh battery which would easily last a day even on a heavy usage owing to the fact that the display is a simple HD unit and the device is not that resource-heavy.

As far as the OS is concerned, the device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo which is again a good thing to see as a lot of newly launched budget smartphones like the LG X2 fail to do so. On top of the near-stock Android Oreo, the Blackview A20 Pro comes equipped with the Android Go apps like Google Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go and Youtube Go which will ensure that the device does not face any lags and hiccups whatsoever as they do not need much resources to run.

Coming to the price of the device, the Blackview A20 Pro is kept at an asking price of $70 (with the 13% discount mentioned earlier) and you can purchase it from Aliexpress.
