BlackBerry is going to launch its latest flagship, the BlackBerry KEY2 on June 7. If, however, you are in China, you would have to wait for one extra day where the launch event would take place on June 8.
The company has already sent out invites for the launch event which will take place in Beijing at 9:30 AM (Beijing time) at the Damai Center (Hall 1) on June 8.
As of now, it is confirmed that the BlackBerry KEY2 is going to be sold via Jingdong in China. It is, however, unclear as to whether the device is going to be exclusive to the e-commerce giant in China or it will be available via other outlets as well.
As far as the specifications of the device are concerned, the BlackBerry KEY2 is supposedly going to come in two processor variants – the Snapdragon 450 chipset variant with 4GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 660 one with a bigger 6GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the device will come equipped with 64GB of internal storage which can further be expanded with the help of an external SD card.
In terms of cameras, the device is going to sport a dual camera setup at the back. As a matter of fact, the KEY2 is the first smartphone by BlackBerry to feature a dual camera.
Recently, the company launched a teaser video which revealed the rear of the device. The teaser video starts off by showing the BlackBerry logo and a redesigned soft-grip pattern of the KEY2. Other than the changes mentioned, the rest of the design language of the device will more or less be similar to the previous generation BlackBerry KEY1.
As of now, there is no more intel on the specifications of the device. That said, the launch date is not too far from now and we are sure to get more news on it in the coming days.
