Samsung is soon going to launch the Samsung Galaxy A6 lineup of devices which includes the Galaxy A6 (2018)and the Galaxy A6+ (2018). We have constantly been getting rumors and news about the devices lately. Now, it appears that the world of rumors has to stop thinking as the company has officially mentioned the specifications of both the devices on its Indonesian website.
Samsung Galaxy A6 and Galaxy A6+: Full specifications and features
As seen in the image, the Galaxy A6 sports a 16MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 16MP selfie snapper with f/1.9 aperture. The Galaxy A6 Plus, on the other hand, sports a better dual camera setup at the back (16MP, f1.7 + 5MP, f/1.9) and a 24MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture. Both the devices have a front LED flash. Only the larger A6+ will have Live Focus found on the other Samsung Galaxy flagship devices.
Both the devices have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and they both offer the ability to unlock the device using a face recognition mechanism as well.
Coming to the displays, both the devices feature a Super AMOLED display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. While the Galaxy A6 sports a 5.6 HD+ display with a resolution of 720×1480 pixels, the Galaxy A6 Plus has a bigger 6-inch FHD+ unit with a resolution of 1080×2220 pixels.
Powering the Galaxy A6 is an Exynos 7870 whereas the Galaxy A6+ is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 (though the processor makes are not mentioned in the specifications list, we can safely assume that these are going to be the ones considering the clock speeds mentioned).
Coming to the RAM and the internal storage, the Galaxy A6 is going to have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The Galaxy A6 Plus, on the other hand, is going to have 4GB of RAM with the same amount of internal storage. You can add up to 256GB of additional storage to the Galaxy A6 and up to 400GB with its beefier counterpart.
Moving to the battery, the Galaxy A6 has a 3,000 mAh battery whereas the Galaxy A6 Plus has a larger 3,500 mAh unit. Both the devices support quick charging.
The big news here is that both the devices are going to supportBixby. That said, there is no dedicated hardware key to launch the assistant and the only way to activate the same would be by using one’s voice for a hotkey wakeup phrase like “Hello Bixby”.
The prices of both the devices have still not been revealed. But, if the previous rumors are to be believed, the Galaxy A6 will be sold at a price of somewhere between $360-$400 whereas the Galaxy A6 Plus will carry a price tag of somewhere around $435-480.
