OnePlus migrates its Website to a new domain: Meet OnePlus.com

Published

on

OnePlus has migrated its Website to a new domain name. Until now, the company was making use of a ‘.net‘ domain for its official Website which was launched back in the year 2013.

Finally, the company decided to make use of a Top Level Domain for its Website. The company has started to redirect the traffic coming to oneplus.net and oneplus.cn to oneplus.com.

Globally, all the country-specific Websites will be redirected to oneplus.com with the exception being the oneplus.in for India. All the other properties of the Website including the online store, support, and forum have also been migrated to the new domain.

The company believes that this switch to .com would help the customers come out of the regional barrier and would ensure uniformity across the nations.

Currently, the company is all set to launch its new flagship, the OnePlus 6 which is recently been spotted in a lot of rumors. The device is one of the most anticipated Android smartphones of the year and is set to launch way earlier than its anticipated launch date.

The OnePlus 6 is going to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset built on the 10 nm FinFET processor. At the memory front, we are going to get 64GB/128GB/256GB of internal storage and 6GB/8GB of RAM.

Coming to the price of the device, the basic variant of the OnePlus 6 will start at $523/€427/INR33,999 which is pretty amazing considering the fact that the current OnePlus flagship, the OnePlus 5T still carries a similar price tag.

Oppo is already a very prominent player in home country China, India, and Thailand. In these countries, manufacturers like Samsung and Apple have already lost a lot of market share in recent years. In the home country of Korea, Samsung has applied for a trademark for Q BIX. The trademark was published by KIPO (Korean Intellectual Property Office) on 13 March 2019. The trademark is categorized as Class 9 with the description; ‘audio speakers with artificial intelligence; televisions’.

The letter ‘Q’ seems to refer to QLED. Samsung also uses the names Q Picture, Q Style and Q Smart to emphasize the different functions of the TV. BIX is a logical abbreviation for Bixby, the description also agrees with this.

Bixby 3.0 has been discussed for some time. It is possible that the name Samsung Q BIX will be introduced when this updated version also becomes available for QLED TVs. The new models are expected at the IFA 2019 in early September.

Samsung has filed the patent for Samsung Smart Things Air which is going to be a new addition to the Smart Things lineup.

The report has come to Android Updated courtesy of Letsgodigital.

On March 15, 2019, Samsung Electronics filed a trademark application for SmartThings Air with EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). The trademark was filed in Madrid, Spain by intermediary Abril Abogados. This company has often acted in the name of Samsung, so earlier this year the trademark was applied for Neuro Game Booster.

The application is classified as Class 9/42, with a very detailed description; ‘Software for operating home automation systems, including lighting, heating, air conditioning, alarm, and other safety equipment. Electric sensors for measuring the air quality for monitoring, control, and automation of the environment. Sensors for detecting air quality in the form of volatile gases, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, pollen or toxins in the air. Sensors for detecting the temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, oxygen, and nitrogen concentration in the air. Software for displaying the data received from the air quality sensors.”

In the (near) future, this will probably make it possible to measure the air quality in your immediate environment with Samsung mobile devices, such as a smartphone, tablet or smartwatch. Are you in a polluted area? Then you will automatically receive an alert so that you can never be unexpectedly attacked by carbon monoxide poisoning or other gases that can endanger your health. Something you regularly hear about in the news.

Although Samsung already offers various devices and solutions to monitor air quality, it is, of course, unique if this is also possible via your smartphone. For example, it no longer matters in which environment you are, the air quality is always measured and checked for you automatically, and you immediately receive a signal in the event of danger.
