Huge memories, Dual-camera setups, Bezel-less displays, and what not. The ever-evolving Android ecosystem has seen a plethora of new trends over the past couple of years. Foldable smartphones are the latest ones at that.
Not too long ago, ZTE announced the ZTE Axon M which is a foldable smartphone. The very announcement of the device shook the Android world yet again, forcing the leading smartphone manufacturers to thing out of the box yet again.
As is the trend, Huawei was swift enough to announce its own version of a foldable smartphone. The company made it official when Richard Yu, the CEO of the company’s consumer group, confirmed the news while speaking to CNET.
Huawei Foldable Smartphone: What’s in Store For Us?
Yu made it clear that the company is currently working on a foldable smartphone. The chances of it releasing, although, are very likely to be next year. The device is under work right now and not ready yet.
That being said, we can just hope that Huawei capitalizes on the fact that there is already a foldable Android smartphone launched in the market and all they need to do is to fix whatever shortcomings the ZTE Axon M has.
We have two screens. But we still have a small gap [between the screens]. That’s not good, and we should get rid of that gap.
One of the most frustrating things in the design language of the ZTE Axon M was, of course, the boundary or the gap between the two screens which is kind of a bummer. Watching videos won’t be that good of an experience for some.
Fortunately, Yu and the entire company for that matter are very well aware of this fact and they are all geared up to bring out a true, gap-less foldable smartphone.
As of now, there is no word as to what they are going to name this new foldable smartphone. The same can be said about its specifications as well. We will let you know about anything that pops up as soon as we can. In the meantime, you can have a look at the Huawei Mate 10 Series which has just been launched.
