The Nokia series smartphones that are launched aren’t quite flagship handsets. If you’re looking for Nokia branded phones that will rival the iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8 you’ll have to wait for the Nokia 9.
The renders for the Nokia 9 got released by the collaboration of @Onleaks and @CompareRaja. The smartphone sports a sleek design but the company is showing a bit of courage by ditching the headphone jack.
The phone is expected to come with a thin bezel and dual camera setup at the back. This is the second smartphone from Nokia which comes with a dual camera, the other one being the Nokia 8.
As per the info shared by @OnLeaks, the phone’s dimensions are 140.9 mm (l) x 72.9 mm (w) x 7.5 mm (d). While it is mostly thin, the camera bump peaks the thickness at 8.9 mm.
Rumour has it that the Nokia 9 will feature a 5.5” AMOLED screen on the front with curved sides similar to the Galaxy flagships and 18:9 panel with QHD+ resolution.
In all likeliness, the phone will be powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8998 Snapdragon 835along with Adreno 540 GPU. For Android manufacturers, this is the most powerful chip available, at least for now. Even the S8, Note 8, and HTC U11 are based on this SoC (System on Chip).
It will come with 6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The smartphone will run on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system and will be backed up by a 3,800mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick-Charge 4 support. It will feature IP68 certification which will make it water and dust resistant.
The phone will probably feature 4 GB RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB storage to choose from. There’s a rear-facing fingerprint sensor and a dual camera array that protrudes substantially.
The smartphone is said to boast a 22-megapixel dual-lens Carl Zeiss camera and a secondary 12-megapixel shooter in the front.
There’s a USB Type-C port on the bottom, and that’s the only port on the phone.
The Nokia 9 will be the first Nokia device to feature ‘Nokia OZO Audio’ enhancements which offer 3D audio experience optimized for headphones and spatial audio playback systems. It features low latency 3D audio playback for VR devices supporting head tracking, as well as high-quality stereo playback for devices without OZO Audio playback support
According to NokiaPowerUser, the Nokia 9 is expected to be priced at around EUR 749 in European markets, $699 in the U.S.
Nokia will unveil this phone at MWC early next year along with NOKIA 2 and NOKIA 7.
So that being said let me know your thoughts on this.
