The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 lineup will allegedly come with a Celeb Alarm feature which would let you wake up listening to your beloved actor or singer.

The report has come to Android Updated courtesy of Letsgodigital.

On January 29, 2019, Samsung Electronics filed a trademark with the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office). It is the name Celeb Alarm. The brand name is categorized as Class 9, Class 41 and Class 42 with the description ‘software for an alarm service with voices of entertainers’. The trademark has been filed by law firm Casalonga Alicante from Spain, Alicante.

The name and description of the trademark remind me of the Celebrity Alarm function that Amazon built into the Echo speaker last year. You can select a beloved actor, singer or other celebrity, who wakes you up at the desired time the next morning, by means of speech.

It looks like Samsung wants to integrate a similar function, the Galaxy S10 series seems to be very suitable for that. On 20 February, the Galaxy Unpacked 2019 event will take place, at which time Samsung will unveil its S10 smartphones. At the same time, the foldable Samsung smartphone will probably also be presented.

We already know that the top variant of the lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ is going to be available in a whopping 12GB RAM and 1TB internal storage option. Now, a new source has once again confirmed this intel suggesting that it has come from a Samsung representative.

Another news suggests that the 5G variant of the Samsung Galaxy S10 will be dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S10 X.

The report has come up courtesy of the Korean publication ETNews. As per the report, the X stands for 10, Experience, and Expand.

The 5GB variant of the Galaxy S10 will come in three memory configurations:

  • 8GB/256GB
  • 8GB/512GB
  • 12GB/1TB

It is important to point out that these are still not confirmed specifications, so one might as well take the news with a pinch of salt. That said, if the report indeed turns out to be legitimate, we are finally going to see a radical improvement. Remember the time when Samsung was mocked by Huawei for bringing mere incremental improvements with its flagship lineup of smartphones?
