Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi Play smartphone on December 24. The company has finally started teasing the device as a bunch of promotional posters have recently appeared on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo.
The device has also appeared on the TENAA listing which has revealed some crucial specifications as well.

Starting things off with the display, the Xiaomi Play will sport a 5.84-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch at the top of it. The notch will feature a 13MP selfie snapper.
Under the hood, we are going to get a 2.3 GHz octa-core processor (unspecified) which will be coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB/128GB of internal storage which will have a scope for further expansion with the help of an external SD card.
Moving on to the battery of the device, the Xiaomi Play will be fueled with a 2,900 mAh battery which is a bit of a letdown.
As far as the OS is concerned, we are going to get Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
As of now, there is no word on the official price of the device, but it is expected to fall under the budget segment.
