Coolpad has quietly unveiled a new budget smartphone dubbed the Coolpad M3 in China. The device is kept at an asking price tag of $115 or CNY 799.
Coolpad M3: Full specifications
Starting things off with the display, the Coolpad M3 sports a 5.85-inch LCD display giving out a resolution of 1512 x 720 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio.
There is a wide notch at the top of the display and a tiny amount of chin at the bottom. There are two color variants of the device – Blue Sea and Gentleman’s Enamel.
Coming to the dimensions, the Coolpad M3 measures 149.8 x 72.3 x 8.95 mm and weighs in at 171 grams.
The battery is something Coolpad won’t be too proud about as the Coolpad M3 has a rather small 2,800 mAh battery.
Moving on to the camera of the device, the Coolpad M3 sports a dual camera setup at the back (13MP + 5MP) and a 5MP selfie snapper with support for AI Face recognition and AI Beautification.
There is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a micro USB 2.0 port (duh) which is placed at a rather unconventional place (the top), and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, the Coolpad M3 is powered with an octa-core MediaTek MT6750 chipset coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can further be expanded with the help of an external SD card.
Moving on to the OS, the Coolpad M3 runs on Android 8.1.0 Oreo out of the box.
As far as the price of the device is concerned, the Coolpad M3 is kept at a budget price of $115. At this price point, the device is simply a steal.
