A couple of months ago, Huawei mocked Samsung for not being able to bring about any significant features and changes in its flagship lineups. Samsung, in return, has come up with a pretty solid answer in terms of its latest Galaxy A lineup of smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) has a triple camera setup whereas the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is the world’s first smartphone to have a quad camera setup at the back.

Now, the company aims to take things further by incorporating the front camera and the sensors at the front within the display, thereby eliminating the need for a notch. This will be made possible by making a hole in the display itself.

As per the report by Letsgodigital, Samsung Electronics filed a patent with USPTO in April this year, the patent entitled ‘Electronic device, including housing on the internet’, was published on October 11, 2018.

The first smartphone which will have such a feature is reportedly going to be the Samsung Galaxy A8S. As a matter of fact, Samsung has started teasing the device as well.

During the launch event of the Samsung Galaxy A9S and the Samsung Galaxy A6S, the company revealed that the first smartphone which will sport the hole-camera technology is already in the works and we might get a taste of it in the coming months.

This would also ensure that we get rid of the dreaded slider mechanisms and the pop-up camera mechanisms for good and get a true bezel-less experience for the first time in Android history.

We all knew that the day when bezels and notches will be gone for good is not too far away, but little did we expect that Samsung will be the pioneer. Kudos to the company for pulling off something noteworthy.
