Oppo has launched a new 2GB variant (with 16GB of internal storage) of the Oppo A83 in India. The device is kept at an asking price of INR 8,990 or $121.
Note that the 3GB variant of the device is priced at INR 13,990 which roughly translates to around $190 and the highest memory variant, the 4GB one is kept at an asking price of INR 15,990 or around $220.
Coming to the display of the device, the Oppo A83 sports a 5.7-inch LCD HD+ giving out a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, the Oppo A83 is powered by a MediaTek 6763T chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can further be expanded with the help of an external SD card.
At the camera front, we get a single 13MP primary camera with an LED flash and an 8MP selfie snapper. The front camera features AI beauty feature and a facial unlock mechanism.
A 3,180 mAh battery keeps the lights of the device on. Moving to the OS, the Oppo A83 runs on an outdated Android 7.1.1 out of the box with ColorOS 3.2 on top of it.
Looking at the specifications and the price the device is being offered at, one can clearly tell that the Oppo A83 is certainly not the best choice of a budget smartphone as there are better choices available in the market. The lack of a physical fingerprint scanner does not help the case either. That said, it will boil down to a person’s interest and if you are interested in Oppo smartphones, the Oppo A83 might be the one for you.
