Fossil has launched the fourth generation of two of its smartwatch lineups – the Fossil Q Venture HR and the Fossil Q Explorist HR.
As the name suggests, both the smartwatches feature a heart rate monitor. On top of that, we get built-in GPS support, and both the smartwatches are waterproof (rated at 3ATM) meaning that you can easily swim while wearing them. Taking a shower won’t be a problem by any means, apparently.
Coming to the specifications of the devices, both the Fossil Q Venture HR and the Fossil Q Explorist HR run on Android Wear. While the Q Explorist is 45mm in diameter, the Q Venture is a tad bit smaller with a 40mm diameter.
Though the sizes are different, both the smartwatches are kept at identical prices – $255 for the leather band variant and $275 for the stainless steel band variant.
Another noteworthy feature which has arrived with both the watches is that they both support NFC meaning that you can make payments using Google Pay.
Other specifications include 4GB of internal storage for offline music, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and changeable watch straps.
The battery capacity is unspecified and given that the previous generations of the Fossil smartwatches have always had a poor battery performance, we are not so sure as to whether or not the Q Venture HR and the Q Explorist HR will be any different.
Both the watches are already available for pre-order and the shipments are going to begin come August 26 in all the leading global markets.
