Google Voice for Android has recently got updated. After the update (v2018.28), the navigation bar on the top of the app has got placed to the bottom.
Though the app has not been that popular as of late, Google’s efforts to bring it back from the dead are commendable.
The repositioning of the nav bar makes it way easier for the users to reach out to the different tabs as compared to the previous location which required a bit more efforts to reach out.
As seen in the image, the latest update falls in line with a lot of Android apps which have followed this trend of integrating the nav bar to the bottom of the screen as it helps users using smartphones with large displays.
On top of the rearrangement, all the icons present in the nav bar have now got a label as well which is kind of an overkill as the icons pretty much speak for themselves and there was no need for the labels. That said, it all boils down to personal choice and we cannot complain about it. You can also swipe left or right to change the tabs which is a good thing.
