Xiaomi Mi 8 full specifications revealed: Everything you need to know

The Xiaomi Mi 8 is going to be unveiled on May 31 on the eve of the company’s annual product launch event. Recently, a new leaked photo has popped up on the internet which reveals all the specifications and the features of the device. Though we are not certain as to whether or not the image is legitimate, it is certainly worth mentioning as the specifications fall in line with the earlier predictions.

As per the image, the Xiaomi Mi 8 features a 6.2-inch FHD+ Display giving out a resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio with a notch at the top. The device will weigh in at 172 grams with 7mm thickness.

Under the hood, we are going to get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which can further be expanded with the help of an external SD card. The device is fueled by a 3,000 mAh battery which supports quick charging.

Moving on to the cameras of the device, the Mi 8 is going to sport a dual camera setup at the back (20MP, f/1.7 aperture + 16MP, f/2.0 aperture) and a 16MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture. The device is tipped to feature a 3D face recognition system, much like the one found on the iPhone X. There would be an under-display fingerprint scanner as well. Additionally, the Mi 8 is going to be the first smartphone by Xiaomi which will feature an OLED display.

The Xiaomi Mi 8, as proclaimed by the company, has turned out to be a smartphone way beyond its expectations. Hence, we can expect a ton of revolutionary features coming packed with the device.

Coming to the price of the device, the 6GB variant of the Mi 8 would cost somewhere around 2,799 Yuan (~$439) whereas the 8GB variant will have a price tag of around 3,199 Yuan (~$500).
