Instagram for Android has recently got an update. The new feature dubbed the Instagram Focus will let you take portrait-style selfies from right within the Instagram app itself.
The Instagram Focus feature will only be rolled out to those Android devices which have a native support for portrait selfies.
Last month, we reported the same feature to be rolled out and finally, the developers have rolled it out on the Google Play Store.
If you have an Android smartphone which features a portrait mode (AKA the bokeh effect, which enables you to blur the objects in the background, thereby allowing the camera to focus right on the person itself), you must already be familiar with how the portrait mode works.
Until now, users could take portrait selfies from within their camera app and then upload them to Instagram. After the update, the Instagram feature would save your time and you can do it from right within Instagram. This would necessarily save a lot of time and those who are selfie addicts are going to love this feature for sure.
In order to use the Instagram focus, all you need to do is to open the app, open the camera, and select Focus mode.
Once you are in the Focus mode, you will notice the background objects getting blurred out. You can take photos as well as videos with the feature. Additionally, you can add various filters, stickers, and text, the same way you have been using Instagram so far.
The Instagram Focus feature is being rolled out in the latest version of the app (V39.0) and is now available in the Google Play Store. If you have a compatible Android device, you can update the app right away.
