Grammarly Finally Hits Android: Meet The Grammarly Keyboard for Android

4 32

After a successful browser plugin and a keyboard already launched for iOS, Grammarly has finally entered the world of Android.

Grammarly has recently launched a new keyboard named the Grammarly Keyboard which is now available for free on the Google Play Store.

In case you do not know as to what Grammarly is, Grammarly is an online tool which checks the text that you type and if you have done any typs err, typos and grammatical errors, it detects them real-time and helps you fix them.

The keyboard has its own set of pros and cons. For starters, there is no swipe-to-type gesture support for the keyboard.

This might not be a big deal-breaker for those who tap to type, but for those who are addicted to the likes of keyboards like Swiftkey are certainly going to have a problem with the Grammarly Keyboard at least in this regard.

Another thing worth noticing is the fact that Grammarly is a cloud-based service. It, therefore, needs an active internet connection all the time in order to the app to function properly. When compared with, again, Swiftkey, the Grammarly Keyboard app again falls short in this aspect as the latter is highly customisable once you save enough words in there.

If there is no internet connection, however, the keyboard would still give you the usual typo suggestions, but you would miss out on the advanced grammatical suggestions that Grammarly provides.

As a blogger, I have always been a big fan of Grammarly. It saves nearly 99 percent of my daily hassle. And, truth be told, I was too excited to see Grammarly finally coming to my favorite platform. But, to be very honest, it won’t turn out to be as practical as it does as a typical browser add-on.

If you want to download the keyboard, you can get it from the Google Play Store for free or download it directly from the button below:
